Top Cooling Tower Manufacturers in Mumbai | Mihir Cooling Towers

Mihir Cooling Towers has been manufacturing FRP and RCC cooling towers since 1976. We were the first company in India to manufacture FRP cooling towers, replacing conventional wooden towers with a design the rest of the industry soon followed — and the first to introduce India's Round Bottle Shaped counterflow FRP cooling tower the same year.

With over 35,000 towers installed across India and abroad, and an in-house Pultruded FRP manufacturing facility certified and tested by IIT Madras, Mihir delivers Counterflow and Crossflow cooling tower solutions engineered for corrosion resistance, long service life and lower operating costs — trusted by process industries, power plants and manufacturing units across Mumbai and the wider region.

What is Cooling Tower?

A cooling tower is a heat rejection system that removes excess heat from industrial processes by transferring it to the atmosphere through water circulation and evaporation. Mihir's cooling towers are engineered as Counterflow and Crossflow systems, built in FRP, RCC, and Pultruded FRP, to maintain controlled process temperatures reliably across continuous industrial operation.

Types of Cooling Towers We Manufacture

As a leading cooling tower manufacturer serving since 1976, we offer eight dedicated product series, each engineered for a different application and capacity:

PM Series — Pultruded FRP Counterflow:

Manufactured at our own in-house pultrusion facility and certified by IIT Madras, offering faster execution than RCC and lower cost than stainless steel — ideal for highly corrosive applications, cooling up to 4,000 m³/hr/cell. Structural supports are built in Pultruded FRP with MSHDG hardware, and the continuous-formed casing gives a smooth finish on both sides.

RCM Series — RCC Counterflow:

A unique center RCC column supports the motor and gearbox to avoid vibration from shaft misalignment, with an FRP fan stack option for faster on-site execution. Cooling up to 4,000 m³/hr/cell. Hurricane and cyclone resistant by virtue of mass, with the entire fill load resting on the RCC structure for added stability.

CM Series — Rectangular Counterflow:

Developed through our 1992 collaboration with GEA Polacel, Netherlands, with a corrosion-resistant, fire-retardant FRP casing and hot-dip galvanized structure. Cooling up to 2,000 m³/hr/cell. Fitted with a high-efficiency axial fan with FRP blades and a cast aluminum alloy hub.

RB Series — Round Bottle Shape:

India's first Round Bottle Shaped counterflow FRP tower, pioneered in 1976, specially designed in round shape for high wind velocity installations. From 10 TR to 450 TR per cell. Built with a direct-driven axial fan and aerofoil-shaped hollow FRP fan blades for energy-efficient airflow.

FM Series — Precisely Designed Counterflow:

Best cost/quality ratio in our range, backed by 45 years of experience, with a self-supporting FRP structure and honeycomb PVC fill. Cooling up to 600 TR in a single cell. Uses minimum MSHDG components and aerofoil-shaped FRP fan blades to keep operating weight low.

SM Series — Single-Piece Factory-Assembled:

Arrives ready with minimum site work, built from PVC, Polypropylene, FRP and hot-dip galvanized steel for full corrosion resistance. Ideal for applications below 150 TR. A high-efficiency axial fan and PVC drift eliminators keep drift loss below 0.05% of circulating water flow.

FRM Series — FRP + RCC Combination:

Introduced in 2002 for process cooling, distillery, sugar industry and power plants (2 MW to 20 MW), with 1,000+ installations. Cooling up to 3,000 CMH per cell. The basin and air entry portion are built in RCC for added structural strength.

XE Series — Crossflow Type:

Low noise and low energy consumption via gravity water distribution, fully factory assembled, and sized to fit standard shipping containers for export. Hot water is distributed through a closed FRP pan, with cooled water collected in an FRP basin for recirculation.

Why Choose Mihir Cooling Towers in Mumbai

Corrosion-Resistant Construction:

FRP structural products resist a broad range of corrosive chemicals, with pultruded profiles tested and certified by IIT Madras. Pultruded structures are not only lightweight but also built for long life and high strength, making them well suited to harsh industrial and coastal environments. Hardware is MSHDG, which withstands corrosion, with stainless steel also available where needed.

Energy-Efficient Performance:

Aerofoil-shaped hollow FRP fan blades and honeycomb PVC fill designed for efficient heat transfer and low operating weight. Induced-draft and counterflow configurations are engineered so the coolest water meets the driest air at the point of contact, optimizing heat transfer and reducing the air quantity required. This translates directly into lower fan power consumption and pumping head over the life of the tower.

Low Maintenance, Long Life:

RCC structures resist heat, UV rays and decay; FRP components are built for long service life with minimal upkeep. Counterflow towers are structurally simpler and more comfortable to size than crossflow designs, making routine maintenance faster and less dependent on highly skilled technicians. RCC-based series also carry hurricane and cyclone resistance by virtue of their mass.

Low Drift Loss:

PVC drift eliminators keep drift loss below 0.05% of circulating water flow, minimizing water loss. A closed, uniform water distribution system reduces the risk of algae growth and clogging compared to open trough systems. This combination helps maintain consistent cooling performance with less water make-up over time.
