The Mihir Polacel XE cooling tower operates on the crossflow principle. Hot water is fed into a closed FRP distribution pan with holes in the bottom, spreading it evenly over the PVC fill below. Through evaporation and direct contact, heat transfers from the water to air drawn in by an axial fan.
Cooled water then collects in an FRP basin at the base of the tower for recirculation. The XE Series is factory assembled, avoiding on-site assembly, and its compact size is designed to fit standard shipping containers — saving on seaworthy packing costs for export.
Benefit of Service
Low noise level from axial fans combined with a direct driving system and low fill pressure drop
Gravity water distribution system saves on pump energy
Factory assembled, avoiding assembly at site
Corrosion-Resistant Structure
Structural supports in Pultruded FRP with MSHDG hardware (stainless steel optional) — built for highly corrosive applications.
Faster Execution
Minimum site activities and low operating weight mean quicker installation with less on-site work.
Energy Efficient
Aerofoil-shaped, hollow FRP fan blades on an induced-draft counterflow design for optimum airflow efficiency.
High Cooling Capacity
Engineered to cool up to 4,000 m³/hr/cell, with a continuously formed casing for a smooth finish on both sides.
More information
Crossflow Cooling Principle
Hot water is fed into a closed FRP distribution pan with holes in the bottom, distributing it evenly over the PVC fill for evaporative cooling via air drawn in by an axial fan.
Gravity Water Distribution
The gravity-based water distribution system saves pump energy compared to pressurized alternatives.
Factory-Assembled Construction
The XE Series is fully assembled at the factory, avoiding the time and cost of on-site assembly.
Export-Friendly Container Sizing
The tower's size is designed to fit standard shipping containers, reducing seaworthy packing costs for export shipments.
